Outback Writers' Centre
The Outback Writers' Centre provides writers in the Orana region with opportunities to develop their knowledge, understanding and practice in all aspects of writing.
Our aim is to build a vibrant writing and publishing culture in the Western area of New South Wales.

The Outback Writers' Centre presents SIX creative writing FREE WORKSHOPS on the first Saturday of the month, in the last half to one hour of our Orana Hub Writers' Meetings from January 2026 to June 2026.
The first in the series will be presented by an experienced and published author on the topic of: "Writing to Prompts, But Not Being Limited by Them."
All writers are invited to join us in the music room at the Western Plains Cultural Centre from 10am to 1pm for the entire Hub Writers' Meeting, or arrive at 12pm for the free workshop which will begin approximately 12 to 12.30pm, depending on how many pieces of work have been brought along for critique for our regular meeting.
If you would like to join us for our entire Orana Hub Writer's Meeting, please feel welcome to bring along 8 or more copies of a short piece (approx 300 words) and/or a long piece (under 1500 words,) of writing you would like to read to the group for gentle critique.
